The Men in Black are back!
Sony has dropped the first trailers (one official and one “international”) for the upcoming franchise reboot/spinoff, which has been titled Men in Black: International. Chris Hemsworth plays suave, pro London MiB Agent H and Tessa Thompson plays Agent M, a newcomer to the agency. The two are partnered up to save the earth and uncover a mole within the organisation that protects the Earth from the scum of the universe.
The trailers show off a surprising amount of footage for our first looks, and it looks like it could be a fun ride. The franchise nods are there for fans of the Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones-starring originals, Hemsworth and Thompson are charmers that showed off great chemistry in Thor: Ragnarok, and there’s a strong supporting cast that includes Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson, Rebecca Ferguson, Kumail Nanjiani and Rafe Spall.
Directing is F. Gary Gray, whose come off two back-to-back hits with The Fate of the Furious and Straight Outta Compton. The screenplay comes from Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the duo whose credits include Iron Man, Punisher: War Zone and Transformers: The Last Knight.
Also starring Laurent Bourgeois and Larry Bourgeois, Men in Black: International will be arriving in Australia on June 13 and hitting the US on June 14.
The Men in Black have always protected the Earth from the scum of the universe. In this new adventure, they tackle their biggest, most global threat to date: a mole in the Men in Black organization.
