First ‘Mission: Impossible – Fallout’ Trailer Has Tom Cruise in More Crazy Stunts

The first trailer has arrived for Mission: Impossible – Fallout, the sixth film in the Tom Cruise-starring action franchise.

Cruise is back doing his thing as IMF Agent Ethan Hunt, who this time finds himself on a race against time after a mission goes wrong. Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames are back as IMF team members, Rebecca Ferguson reprises her role as Ilsa Faust, and Michelle Monaghan also returns as Julia, who we found out was still in the picture towards the end of Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.

Henry Cavill also joins the team, and while it’s certainly exciting to see the actor mixing it up with Cruise in an action movie, that moustache has earned way too much attention thanks to Paramount’s decision not to let Warner Bros. shave it off for Justice League reshoots (resulting in some truly ugh CG for the DC flick).

This marks the first M:I film to really continue on the plot from a previous film; previous films merely provided a small reference, if anything. Rogue Nation director Christopher McQuarrie is back at the helm, directing a great cast in what looks like an exciting action pic, with more of Cruise risking his neck to give us some standout action sequences; the trailer also offers up a quick look at the stunt that broke Cruise’s ankle. Bring it.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout, also starring Angela Bassett, Vanessa Kirby, and Sean Harris, arrives in Australia on July 12 and will open in the U.S. on July 27.
