Updated: Here Are Netflix’s Most Watched Movies and Series Ever

‘Extraction’ and ‘Bridgerton’

[The list of most viewed Netflix shows has now been updated to include ‘Squid Game’.]

Netflix has generally kept its viewing numbers firmly under wraps, providing a glimpse every now and then to publicise content that’s doing well. So, why not show off some of the most watched films and shows now that they have quite the library?

The streaming giant has done just that, releasing lists of the most watched movies and series on its platform. “We’re trying to be more transparent with talent, with the market,” Netflix co-CEO and director of content Ted Sarandos said at Vox Media’s Code Conference this week.

When perusing the lists below, it’s important to note the following: Netflix counts a view as an account that watched a minimum of 2 minutes of a film or show, and all stats are based on the first 28 days of release. Also, as it hasn’t been out for all that long yet, there’s no mention of Squid Game. As Sarandos said, that South Korean phenomenon is expected to shoot up the series charts rapidly.
