A new Mad Max: Fury Road trailer has dropped, this one taking on a great new angle to market the film around a month away from its U.S. release.
The new trailer opens on Mad Max, George Miller’s 1979 original. We’re then taken through a montage of that film and its two sequels, The Road Warrior (aka Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior) and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Nostalgia rears its sweet little head in every shot, kicking up those great memories with text reading, “All the power…all the chaos…all the madness…has led to now.” Are we excited? Bet your ass we are.
Mad Max: Fury Road, starring Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Riley Keough, Zoe Kravitz, Courtney Eaton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, and Abbey Lee Kershaw, hits Australia on May 14 and the U.S. on May 15.
Official synopsis for Mad Max: Fury Road:
Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa. They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe, from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.
