New Trailer for The Lego Movie

Warner Bros. has released a brand new trailer for The Lego Movie, the upcoming CG-animated movie based on Lego Construction Toys. We’re digging the crazy tone of the film, with some wild animation and a quip at every turn. The usual generic plot points seem to be covered to keep it comfortable for the kids, but we think Phil Lord and Chris Miller (the duo behind 21 Jump Street and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs) will bring enough creativity and laughs to make this a fun ride. The impressive voice cast certainly seem to be having a good time too. Will Arnett for Batman?

Synopsis and Comic-Con poster underneath the trailer.

Official synopsis for The Lego Movie:

The original 3D computer animated story follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

Featuring the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Cobie Smulders.

ETA: USA – 7 February, 2014.
