Don Cheadle, Benicio del Toro, David Harbour, Ray Liotta, and Jon Hamm are among the cast of No Sudden Move, the latest film from filmmaker Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, Ocean’s Eleven, Contagion).
The official trailer has arrived for the HBO Max-exclusive release (in the US), which is set in 1955 Detroit and follows a group of small-time criminals who are hired to steal emerging car technology. Their plan, as you’d expect, goes horribly wrong. Their search for who hired them – and for what ultimate purpose – weaves them through all echelons of the race-torn, rapidly changing city.
A great ensemble and what looks like a twist-filled mystery should make for an engrossing watch. The screenplay comes from Ed Solomon, whose wide-ranging credits include Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, Men in Black, 2000’s Charlie’s Angels, and Now You See Me.
Also starring Brendan Fraser, Kieran Culkin, Amy Seimetz, Julia Fox, Noah Jupe, Craig Grant, and Bill Duke, No Sudden Move hits HBO Max on July 1st. The film will have its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 18th.
