‘Outer Banks’ Season 2 Trailer Has John B and Sarah On the Run

Netflix has released the official trailer for season 2 of YA adventure-drama series Outer Banks.

The first season’s action-packed finale saw John B (Chase Stokes) and Sarah (Madelyn Cline) escaping onto the seas only to be met by a tropical storm and subsequently presumed dead. Well, as we saw, a good ol’ cargo ship saved the lovers and we now find them on the run and in over their heads in Nassau, the Bahamas, as they head back on the trail of the gold. Back at home, things get more dangerous for JJ  (Rudy Pankow), Kiara (Madison Bailey), and Pope (Jonathan Daviss), the latter two of whom finally began a relationship at the end of last season. The new chapter also promises a new-found secret, all while Sarah’s dad, Ward Cameron (Charles Esten), cracks down on the Pogues in every way he can.

“Season 2 is going to test our crew like never before,” said Outer Banks creators/executive producers Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke in a statement. “We’ve turned up the dial on everything fans loved about season one – more mystery, more romance and higher stakes. It’s a full throttle, action-packed adventure and these photos offer a glimpse into the next chapter for our Pogues. All we can say for now is buckle up, it’s going to be a wild ride.”

Season 1 proved to be a hit for Netflix, doing well with audiences and critics (a 7.6 score on IMDb and a 71% on Rotten Tomatoes) and earning enough of a viewership to warrant a renewal from Netflix three months after the first chapter arrived in April 2020.

Outer Banks season 2 will be streaming on Netflix from July 30th.
