‘Pam & Tommy’ Series Trailer: Lily James & Sebastian Stan are Pamela Anderson & Tommy Lee, Seth Rogen Steals Their Tape

Hulu

Take a look at the teaser trailer that’s arrived for Pam & Tommy, the upcoming Hulu limited series starring Lily James as Pamela Anderson and Sebastian Stan as Tommy Lee.

The eight-episode series will look at the sudden and turbulent marriage between Pamela and Tommy in 1995, and, specifically, the release of their infamous viral sex tape.

Seth Rogen, who’s also on board as producer, plays Rand Gauthier, a former porn star who was working as an electrician and installed a security system and studio in Pamela and Tommy’s malibu mansion house. In an interview with Rolling Stone back in 2014, Gauthier said that the celebrity couple fired him and other workers and refused to pay them for work they deemed to be shoddy. Gauthier was sick of their demands and was willing to leave it at that, he said, but things took a turn when he and a general contractor went back to collect their tools only to be, allegedly, met with a shotgun-toting Tommy and told to “get the f**k off” his property. Well, Gauthier wanted revenge.

Gauthier cased their mansion for the entire summer of 1995 and ended up breaking in and stealing the giant safe located in the garage. Along with jewelry and guns, the safe had a little tape that would go completely viral over the next few years. After suing, Pamela and Tommy ended up making a confidential settlement agreement with a video distribution company, Internet Entertainment Group.

The series comes from creator, showrunner, writer and executive producer Robert Siegel, whose screenplay credits include The Wrestler and The Founder. Aussie filmmaker Craig Gillespie, who directed I, Tonya and this year’s Cruella, directs three episodes and is on board as an EP.

Pam & Tommy, also starring Nick Offerman, Taylor Schilling, Andrew Dice Clay, Pepi Sonuga, Spencer Granese, and Mozhan Marnò, will premiere on Hulu in the U.S. on February 2, 2022. In other markets, including Australia, the series will be heading to Disney+ as a Star Original series.
