‘Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin’ Trailer: The Found Footage Horror Franchise Gets a Paramount+ Reboot

The official trailer has arrived for upcoming found footage horror film Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, a reboot of the now seven-movie deep franchise that kicked off with surprise hit Paranormal Activity back in 2007.

The new chapter heads to a secluded Amish community, with a documentary filmmaker following a young woman (Emily Bader) as she visits the area in hopes of learning about her long-lost mother. As the trailer shows, this community, at first welcoming, is hiding something very sinister. And hey, ma’am, even if you “have to know,” don’t go down into that creepy hole.

Unsettling moments and jump scares on offer in the latest Paranormal Activity, along with what looks like a plethora of horror tropes. The film is directed by William Eubank, who previously helmed the fun Kristen Stewart-starring deep-sea horror flick Underwater. The script comes from franchise writer Christopher Landon, who’s working on his fifth Paranormal Activity pic here and has a list of credits that include Disturbia, Happy Death Day 2U and Freaky. Jason Blum and Oren Peli produce.

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin will be streaming on Paramount+ from October 29th.
