Ant-Man’s next film, Ant-Man and the Wasp, could see Peyton Reed returning in the director’s chair.
According to THR, Reed has entered negotiations with Marvel Studios to reprise his role at the helm of the sequel currently lined up for release in 2018.
Reed came on board to direct Ant-Man after the highly publicised split between writer-director Edgar Wright and Marvel. Despite many assuming the troubled road to fruition would lead to a poor picture, Ant-Man was a success, pulling over $454 million worldwide and earning a Rotten Tomatoes score of 80%.
Paul Rudd is set to reprise his role as the titular hero, aka Scott Lang, and Evangeline Lilly will be returning as Hope Van Dyne, the titular Wasp.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is set for U.S. release on July 6, 2018.
