Despite this news dropping on the U.S. date of October 21, 2015, it doesn’t have anything to do with Back to the Future. Sorry, folks.
Nevertheless, this still sounds awesome. TV Insider is reporting that Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the duo known for bringing us 21 & 22 Jump Street, The Lego Movie, and The Last Man on Earth, are developing a comedy television series set to focus on time travel.
The single-camera sitcom is to tell the story of three buddies who are living mundane lives until they end up experiencing time travel.
Writer Julius Sharpe, known for his work on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Family Guy, is also on board developing the comedy.
Lord and Miller are to continue their relationship with Fox, the home of The Last Man on Earth. 20th Century Fox TV has given the show a “put pilot” order, which basically means they’ll be penalised if they don’t produce a pilot. We’ll keep you informed.
