Universal has dropped a big new trailer for Pitch Perfect 3, the upcoming threequel starring Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld and Ruby Rose, among many others.
The third film in the franchise finds the Bellas split apart and living unfulfilling lives with careers far removed from their musical passions. When they get a chance to reunite for an overseas USO tour, the girls embark on one last singing competition. Beca (Kendrick) also has a tough choice to make: sign a solo deal with a record label and leave the Bellas behind, or stick with her friends and miss a giant opportunity.
The two previous films raked in $US402.9 million worldwide combined, a feat made all the more impressive with the fact that they cost $US46 million to produce. Fans will surely be back for chapter 3, which looks to offer up a more out-there adventure this time around, with action and explosions thrown into the mix.
This marks the sophomore feature effort for Step Up All In director Trish Sies. Kay Cannon continues on as screenwriter.
Pitch Perfect 3, also starring Hana Mae Lee, Ruby Rose, Alexis Knapp, Chrissie Fit, Ester Dean, Shelley Regner, Kelley Jakle with John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks, will open in the US on December 22 and arrives in Australia on New Year’s Day.
