A big new trailer has been released for the upcoming film adaptation of the Power Rangers television series, and it’s pretty good!

For those out of the Power Rangers loop, the film follows a group of teenagers – who are “all screw-ups” – and their journey from ordinary to heroes whey they’re given special abilities.

The idea of a new Power Rangers movie was understandably met with skepticism and eye rolls. The key question that arose: Do we really need that? And while no, we don’t really need this, I’ll be damned if this new trailer didn’t get me surprisingly pumped. It’s certainly very familiar, with more than a handful of superhero-origin and teen movie tropes thrust forth, but there’s a sense of fun here that entices. The big new promo shows off plenty of new footage and gives us our first proper looks at Bryan Cranston’s Zordon and the new Alpha 5 (voiced by Bill Hader). Take a look below.

Power Rangers, directed by Project Almanac helmer Dean Israelite and starring Naomi Scott, Becky G., Ludi Lin, RJ Cyler, Dacre Montgomery and Elizabeth Banks, will arrive in Australia on March 23 and hits the US on March 24.

Synopsis for Power Rangers:

Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.
