‘Reacher’ Trailer: ‘Titans’ Actor Alan Ritchson Takes on Lee Child Character in Amazon Prime Series

The first trailer has arrived for upcoming Amazon Prime Video series Reacher, starring Alan Ritchson (you may know him as Hawk in Titans) as the titular badass created by author Lee Child.

Based on Child’s first Jack Reacher novel, Killing Floor, the first season (assuming it’s renewed for more) follows the veteran military police officer as he finds himself framed for murder in the small Georgia town of Margrave. As he endeavours to clear his name and find the real people responsible, he begins to uncover a deep conspiracy that will call for both his smarts and fists.

The series comes from Emmy-nominated writer Nick Santora (Scorpion, Prison Break), who is also attached as executive producer and showrunner. The cast includes Malcolm Goodwin (iZombie) as Oscar Finlay, Willa Fitzgerald (The Goldfinch) as Roscoe Conklin, Chris Webster (Most Dangerous Game) as KJ, Hugh Thompson (Blessed Stranger: After Flight 111) as Baker, Maria Sten (Swamp Thing) as Frances Neagley, Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) as Jasper, Kristin Kreuk (Smallville) as Charlie, and Currie Graham (Murder in the First) as Kliner Sr., among others.

A potentially solid series here, adding another book-to-screen hero to Amazon following the success of Jack Ryan and Bosch. Tom Cruise played Reacher in two feature films, although his casting was met with mixed reactions as the character is described, on the page, as being large in physique and stature. Ritchson certainly appears to meet that description.

All eight episodes of the first season of Reacher will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video from February 4th, 2022.
