A new trailer has been released for Red Dog: True Blue, the follow-up to the hit Aussie-U.S. co-production from 2011.
This prequel explores the early events leading up to Red Dog’s discovery on the road to Dampier. We follow eleven-year-old Mick (Levi Miller), who think he’s in for nothing but hardship when he is shipped off to his grandfather’s (Bryan Brown) cattle station in remote Western Australia. Instead, he meets his best friend: a scrappy, one-of-a-kind dog that will change his life forever.
Red Dog hit home hard. It was feel-good and an unashamedly emotional film that had many reaching for tissues, and it was a nice hit as result. Having director Kriv Stenders and screenwriter Daniel Taplitz back on board is certainly the right move for a repeat performance.
Red Dog: True Blue, also starring Jason Isaacs, Hanna Mangan Lawrence and Thomas Cocquerel, will hit Australian cinemas on Boxing Day this year.
