Thanks to Ride Along‘s worldwide draw in excess of $153 million, from a production budget of just $25 million no less, a sequel was simply a given. Ride Along 2 is on the way, placing Kevin Hart’s Ben Barber and Ice Cube’s James Payton on a mission in Miami.
The sequel looks to be hitting the same elements put forth in the first, with Hart putting in his kinetic, self-depreciating comedy (yes, he’s short) and Cube continuing on with his tough-guy persona. If you were a fan of the first film, chances are you’ll be all over this. Watch the new TV spot below.
Ride Along 2, which also adds Olivia Munn, Nadine Velazquez, Ken Jeong and Benjamin Bratt into the mix, will be hitting the U.S. on January 15, 2016.
Logline for Ride Along 2:
Kevin Hart and Ice Cube lead the returning lineup of Ride Along 2, the sequel to the blockbuster action-comedy that gave us the year’s most popular comedy duo. Joining Hart and Cube for the next chapter of the series are director Tim Story, as well as Cube’s fellow producers—Will Packer, Matt Alvarez and Larry Brezner—who will produce alongside Cube.
