A Fifty Shades star could soon be joining Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx in a new Robin Hood picture.

Jamie Dornan has entered talks to join the expanding cast of Robin Hood: Origins. If cast, the actor will be playing Will Scarlet, Robin Hood’s half-brother and a member of Little John’s team of Merry Men.

According to Variety, the outlet reporting Dornan’s potential casting, “the film — set in the Sherwood Forest — follows the titular hero as he returns from the Crusades and forms a band of outlaws to fight corruption.”

Set to star as Robin Hood is Egerton, who’s been on solid run since breaking out with his lead role in Kingsman: The Secret Service. Foxx has signed on to play Little John.

The Lionsgate picture is to be directed by Otto Bathurst, perhaps best known for his work directing three episodes of BBC series Peaky Blinders. The screenplay comes from Joby Harold, who is also behind Warner Bros.’ upcoming actioner King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson are attached to produce under their Appian Way banner, Toby Tunnell and Joby Harold are producing under Safehouse Productions, and Basil Iwanyk is producing under Thunder Road Pictures.

Dornan has a number of projects on the way. His sci-fi thriller The 9th Life of Louis Drax is currently on a limited rollout, his Netflix war drama The Siege of Jadotville is scheduled to hit the streaming service on October 7 (U.S. date), he recently finished Fifty Shades Darker and is currently filming Fifty Shades Freed, and can be seen in the BBC series The Fall.

Robin Hood: Origins is expected to be released sometime in 2017.
