Sacha Baron Cohen & Republicans Promote Arming Toddlers in 10-Minute Look at ‘Who Is America?’

Showtime / Stan

Sacha Baron Cohen is back on the small screen, doing what he does best: dressing up, going undercover, and pointing out all sorts of craziness by interviewing unsuspecting individuals.

His new show is titled What Is America?, and as the title suggests, it finds Baron Cohen attempting to uncover a little more about the current state of the US. The guy that gave us Ali G, Borat and Bruno is bringing some new characters to the screen, and one of them is featured in a mind-boggling segment that’s been released online.

Meet Col. Erran Morad, an  Israeli “anti-terror expert” and self-proclaimed “terrorist terminator” who’s determined to get guns into the hands of children. After all, “The way to stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good child with a gun.” Seriously? Seriously. According to some pro-gun republicans, that’s a damn good idea. In just a bit over 10 minutes, the segment below features a number of jaw-dropping moments, like Philip Van Cleave, President of the Virginia Citizen’s Defense League, taking part in a child-aimed gun-training video, and Gun Owners of America executive director Larry Pratt jokingly (?) saying Muslims should pray in private. And then it really gets nuts: hello, congressmen. It’s amusing, and it’s ultimately terrifying. You should really see it for yourself…

Who Is America? is currently airing on Stan in Australia and Showtime in the US.
