Whoa! Check out the trailer Vertical Entertainment and Redbox Entertainment have dropped for New Zealand-US co-production Shadow in the Cloud, an action-horror war film that looks like some bonkers fun.
Set during WWII, the film has Chloë Grace Moretz playing Captain Maude Garrett, a woman who boards a B-17 bomber with a mission to transport a secret package. A few things are going to be making her mission harder: enemy fighter planes, the misogynistic crew around her… and oh yeah, a freakin’ monster.
This wild-looking ride is the second feature for Chinese-New Zealand filmmaker Roseanne Liang, who previously directed the very different 2011 romance My Wedding and Other Secrets. Liang also co-wrote the screenplay with Max Landis, whose credits include Chronicle, Bright and Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency.
Count me in for this craziness. Shadow in the Cloud, also starring Nick Robinson, Beulah Koale and Taylor John Smith, will be hitting On Demand on New Year’s Day.
