The scene getting the spotlight has our titular hero (played by Simu Liu, Kim’s Convenience) taking on baddies on skyscraper scaffolding – waaay above the city streets. Naturally, the Master of Kung Fu offers a number of these masked opponents a quick way down.
The film finds our hero drawn back to the clandestine Ten Rings organisation and forced to confront the past he thought he left behind. It’s a family matter, as the Ten Rings is run by his father, Wenwu (Tony Leung).
Not long now! Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, also starring Awkwafina, Meng’er Zhang, Fala Chen, Florian Munteanu, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh and Ronny Chieng, will be in Australian cinemas on September 2nd and US cinemas on September 3rd … barring dreaded lockdowns, of course.
