Amazon Studios

The trailer has been released for Solos, Amazon Prime Video‘s upcoming sci-fi anthology series starring Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway, Anthony Mackie, Helen Mirren, Uzo Aduba, Nicole Beharie, Dan Stevens, and Constance Wu.

As per Amazon’s description, the seven-part series “explores the strange, beautiful, heart-breaking, hilarious, wondrous truths of what it means to be human. These character-driven stories contend that even during our most seemingly isolated moments, in the most disparate of circumstances, we are all connected through the human experience.”

It’s not all that clear what the narratives will be, but the moments on display in the trailer suggest some interesting ideas and emotional moments. No denying the quality of that cast, too.

The anthology series was created by David Weil, who’s also the creator of Amazon series Hunters. Weil makes his directorial debut here, helming three eps; also directing are Sam Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy, Fifty Shades of Grey), Zach Braff (Garden State, Going in Style), and Tiffany Johnson (The Last O.G., Black Monday).

Solos premieres on Amazon Prime Video on May 21st.
