Action Movie Based on Stan Lee’s Life In Development

Stan Lee’s life is getting the screen treatment, but it’s going to be far from a regular biopic.

The comic creator, who had a hand in creating some of Marvel’s biggest characters, including Spider-Man, the X-Men and Iron Man, will have his life taken to the screen in an action-adventure movie.

According to THR, Twentieth Century Fox has acquired Lee’s life rights and intend to craft an adventure film in the vain of Kingsman: The Secret Service or “Roger Moore’s 007.”

On board to produce are Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, whose credits include the Twilight and Maze Runner franchises, The Fault in Our Stars, and the upcoming Power Rangers movie. Lee himself is attached as executive producer, alongside his POW! Entertainment partner Gil Champion.

Born Stanley Lieber, Lee was raised in a poor Bronx neighbourhood and got his start in the comics universe by working for his uncle at Timely Comics, which would evolve by the 1960s to become Marvel Comics. Unable to write what he dreamed would the “great American novel,” Lee was set to call it quits in 40s. Luckily, his wife convinced him to give the comics world one last crack. Working with artists such as Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, some of our best-known Marvel heroes began to come to life.

As THR points out, it’s still early days in this project, so there’s always the chance it evolves into something else as different creative heads come on board. We’ll keep you informed.
