The official trailer has arrived for Stay Close, Netflix‘s latest series adaptation of a Harlan Coben novel following Safe (2018), The Stranger, The Woods (both 2020), and The Innocent (2021).
Stay Close follows four individuals, each concealing a dark secret from their past from those closest to them. There’s Megan (Cush Jumbo, The Good Wife), a mother of three; Ray (Richard Armitage, The Stranger), a once-promising documentary photographer; Broome (James Nesbitt, Cold Feet), a detective still hung up on the cold case of a missing person; and Lorraine (Sarah Parish, Bancroft), an old friend of Megan’s. The lives of all four, as well as those around them, begin to unravel when the dark secrets come back to haunt them.
Coben is executive producer on the eight-episode series, another project in a big five-year deal Coben made with Netflix to have 14 of his books adapted into either series or films. Stay Close is executive produced by Nicola Shindler, Danny Brocklehurst and Richard Fee, with Coben, Brocklehurst and Fee also writing. Series producer is Juliet Charlesworth (Happy Valley), with Daniel O’Hara returning to direct after helming episodes of both The Stranger and Safe.
Stay Close, also starring Eddie Izzard, Andi Osho, Daniel Francis, Jo Joyner, Bethany Antonia and Rachel Andrews, will be streaming on Netflix from December 31st.
