‘Stowaway’ Trailer: Netflix Takes Toni Collette, Anna Kendrick & More On a Bad Trip to Mars

Netflix has released the official trailer for Stowaway, an upcoming space survival film starring Australia’s Toni Collette, Anna Kendrick, Daniel Dae Kim, and Shamier Anderson.

Collette, Kendrick and Kim play astronauts aboard a spaceship on a mission to mars. Their planned 2-year trip takes a turn when they find an unintended stowaway (Anderson) – and making things worse, he accidentally causes severe damage to the spaceship’s life support systems. With resources dwindling and their air supply slowly running out, the four are forced to make some very tough choices.

This is the second feature for Brazilian director and co-writer Joe Penna, and his second survival film following the much-colder Mads Mikkelsen starrer Arctic (our review of that one HERE). Penna reunites with Arctic co-writer Ryan Morrison on the script.

While the trailer doesn’t show off much that we haven’t seen play out many times before, the elements are nevertheless promising: a strong cast and a rife-with-tension plot. On a side note, it’s also nice to hear Collette keep her Aussie accent here. Looking forward to it!

Stowaway will be streaming on Netflix from April 22nd.
