Check out the first teaser trailer for The Rover, the new film from Australian writer-director David Michôd. Michôd blew everyone away with his first feature, the amazing Animal Kingdom, and it looks like he’ll be smacking another one right out of the park with his long-awaited follow-up. Set 10 years after the collapse of society, the film follows a man who sets out to reclaim his last possession from a gang. He has the forced assistance of a wounded guy left behind in the wake of the theft. Guy Pierce and Robert Pattinson star in what appears to be a hard-hitting thriller, with glimpses of Michôd’s poetic form of testosterone-fuelled brutality. The story comes from the mind of Joel Edgerton, with Michôd writing the screenplay. If this is anywhere near as good as Animal Kingdom, we’ll be all over it.
Scoot McNairy, Susan Prior, Gillian Jones, Anthony Hayes, and David Field also star.
