Whoa! Sensitive types… maybe skip this one.

Check out the uncensored trailer that’s arrived for upcoming Amazon Prime series The Boys, based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson

This marks another adaptation of a no-holds-barred comic from Preacher executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (they work with Supernatural creator Eric Kripke here) – and it’s as irreverent as you’d expect. The series is set in a world where superheroes have embraced the dark side of fame and celebrity, and we follow a group of vigilantes, known as “the boys,” who’ve decided to take down corrupt superheroes.

It looks like a wild time, with blood and guts galore and a morbid sense of humour. The production quality looks damn good, too. We’re so in.

The Boys, starring Karl Urban, Karen Fukuhara, Laz Alonso, Tomer Kapon, Anthony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Jesse T. Usher, Chance Crawford and Jack Quaid, premieres on Amazon Prime July 26.

Official synopsis for The Boys:

Series premiere July 26, 2019. THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formiddable Vought backing.
