The Imitation Game Trailers: Benedict Cumberbatch Cracks Nazi Codes

Two trailers have been released for The Imitation Game, an upcoming WWII drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley. The film tells the true story of Alan Turing, a brilliant cryptanalyst who helped cracked Germany’s “Enigma code,” helping turn the tide of World War II for the Allies. Turing’s story is a fascinating and important one, even more so after his sexuality made him a target of persecution in 1952. This looks great, with what appears to be a fantastic turn from Cumberbatch. The trailers certainly push the term “Oscar-bait”, but this looks warranted here. Directed by Morten Tyldum, who helmed the great Norwegian thriller Headhunters.

Watch The Imitation Game trailers below. The first comes from the U.S. (The Weinstein Co) and the second comes from the U.K. (Studio Canal).

The Imitation Game also stars Matthew Goode, Charles Dance, Mark Strong, Rory Kinnear, Allen Leech, and Matthew Beard.
