‘The Last Mercenary’ Trailer: Jean-Claude Van Damme Kicks Ass, Dances & Dons a Hot Wig in Netflix Action-Comedy

The official trailer has arrived for new Jean-Claude Van Damme movie The Last Mercenary, a French action-comedy heading to Netflix in late July.

The Muscles from Brussels plays Richard Brumère, aka “La Brume” (“The Mist”), a former French secret service special agent turned mercenary. He is put back in action when his son, Archibald (Samir Decazza), is framed by an international terrorist organisation. Richard is forced to get in touch with old contacts, and join forces with a bunch of reckless youngsters from the projects and an offbeat bureaucrat.

A potentially silly goose time on offer here, with – as the lively trailer shows – a Van Damme that’s happily going all in on the craziness. Directing and co-writing is David Charhon (On the Other Side of the Tracks).

Line it up: The Last Mercenary, also starring Alban Ivanov, Assa Sylla, Eric Judor and Miou-Miou, will be streaming on Netflix from July 30th.
