‘The Last Sharknado’ Trailer Ends the Franchise with Dinosaurs and Time Travel

The Sharknado franchise is coming to and end!

Yes, we can imagine tears will be shed by many. Well, at least we can take the solace in the fact that the final film, The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time, will feature both time travel and dinosaurs. Freakin’ dinosaurs! It’s the type of film brand that’s completely aware of its inherent cheapiness and sillyness, and it markets accordingly. It’s been a smart format – we are on film SIX, after all.

Franchise director Anthony C. Ferrante returns at the helm of this final chapter, which finds Fin (Ian Ziering) travelling back in time to stop the original Sharknado that started it all. The film, which will also be bringing back Tara Reid, Cassie Scerbo and Vivica A. Fox, hits Syfy on August 19, wrapping up the channel’s annual Sharknado Week. Check out the new trailer below.

“Our hero Fin (Ian Ziering) has battled sharks all over the globe, but in this last installment he will tackle the final shark-tier — time travel. In the ending moments of SHARKNADO 5: GLOBAL SWARMING, Fin was seen wandering alone on Earth after it was destroyed. Now he must travel back in time to stop the Sharknado that started it all. Will Fin and the gang be able to set everything right and save the world once and for all?”
