‘The Little Things’ Release Date: Denzel Washington & Rami Malek to Play Detectives After a Serial Killer

A U.S. release date has been handed to The Little Things, a thriller set to star Oscar winners Denzel Washington and Rami Malek. Yep, right off the bat, you can count us in.

The Warner Bros. film will be released in the U.S. on January 29, 2021. As of now, there’s no official word from Australian distributor Roadshow Films on a local release, although it’s likely the “Untitled New Line” film they have lined up for January 28, 2021.

The film will have Washington playing burnt-out Kern County, CA deputy sheriff Deke (Washington), who teams with crack LASD detective Baxter (Malek) to take down a serial killer. Deke’s nose for the “little things” proves eerily accurate, but his willingness to circumvent the rules embroils Baxter in a soul-shattering dilemma. Meanwhile, Deke must wrestle with a dark secret from his past.

Jared Leto is also on board… and I won’t be surprised if word comes that he’s playing the killer. The cast includes Sofia Vassilieva, Natalie Morales, Terry Kinney, Michael Hyatt, Jason James Richter, Chris Bauer, and Kerry O’Malley.

Directing The Little Things is John Lee Hancock, whose credits include Saving Mr. Banks, The Blindside and The Founder. He’s also written the screenplay.
