Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon find themselves taking on assassins in the upcoming action-comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me.
A new trailer has arrived for the film, which tells of two best friends who get caught up in an international conspiracy when one of them finds out her boyfriend, who dumped her via text, was actually a spy.
Susanna Fogel (Life Partners, Chasing Life) makes her sophomore feature directing-writing effort with this amiable-looking action-comedy. It’s not the kind of film that’s aiming to be a game-changer, but it does look like it wants to offer its audience a fun night out, which it may accomplish. Kunis is clearly comfortable in the comedy genre, most recently starring in Bad Moms and its sequel (which she executive produced), and McKinnon is of course in her wheel house. It goes without saying, but if neither does it for you in the comedy sector, you likely needn’t apply. We’ll see.
The Spy Who Dumped Me, also starring Justin Theroux, Gillian Anderson, Hasan Minhaj, Ivanna Sakhno, and Sam Heughan, will be hitting US cinemas on August 3 and arrives in Australia on August 9.
