Sam Neill Cast in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

Looks like we have a minor Jurassic Park reunion on the way. Marvel‘s third Thor film, Thor: Ragnarok, will feature both Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill.

Neill has confirmed that he has filmed a small part in the upcoming Marvel picture, which reunites him with Hunt for the Wilderpeople director Taika Waititi.

The New Zealand-raised actor broke the news during an interview with Shortlist Magazine, saying, “I’m not really allowed to say this and I can’t tell you what it is… I did a couple of days on Thor just before I came over here. If I say anything else, Marvel’s secret agents — and they are lethal — will come and get me and probably my children, as well.”

Understandably, word has spread like wildfire. Neill has released some amusing tweets regarding the news, further clarifying just how small a part it is.

So yes, assuming Neill’s work is included in the final cut, it’s probably going to amount to a small cameo. Still, even a little Neill is better than no Neill, and perhaps there’s the possibility that it’s a role he could revisit further down the track. Maybe.

Thor: Ragnarok, also starring Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Cate Blanchett, Karl Urban and Tessa Thompson, among many others, is scheduled to open in the U.S. on November 3, 2017.
