The first official trailer has dropped for Locke, an upcoming thriller starring Tom Hardy. The quick synopsis is awesomely simple: a man’s life unravels during a 90-minutes race against time. Basically, Locke is a minimalist thriller about a man in a car. The trailer doesn’t give away much at all, but it does convince of the film’s intensity. Early reviews are pretty damn positive, praising the film’s taught script and Hardy’s excellent performance. We’re always interested in movies that take a minimalist approach to a narrative. Whether it be a phone-booth, a coffin or a giant cube, these types of films demand that filmmakers bring as much creativity and originality to what could essentially be a bore. Unsettling and intriguing, this is looking awesome.
Written and directed by Steven Knight, who wrote Pretty Dirty Things and Eastern Promises.
