The first trailer has finally been released for Robert Rodriguez’s follow-up to Sin City, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Surprisingly, this isn’t a barely-see-a-thing kind of teaser trailer. Fans of the first film and of Frank Miller’s graphic novels will be pretty excited to see what looks like another faithful big-screen adaptation, with a strong cast delivering Miller’s unique dialogue in Rodriguez’s CG noir landscape. Rodriguez and Miller co-wrote the screenplay with William Monahan (The Departed), primarily based on the second book in the Sin City series by Miller. The film is also based on the short story Just Another Saturday Night, found in the fifth book in the series Booze, Broads & Bullets. Miller created two original stories for the film as well.
So far, so good. Will it be worth the almost ten-year wait between films?
Starring Josh Brolin, Mickey Rourke, Eva Green, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Dennis Haysbert, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, Stacy Keach, and Julia Garner.
Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller reunite to bring Miller’s visually stunning “Sin City” graphic novels back to the screen in SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. Weaving together two of Miller’s classic stories with new tales, the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more notorious inhabitants.
SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR is the follow up to Rodriguez and Miller’s 2005 groundbreaking film, FRANK MILLER’S SIN CITY.
