Some mixed news for fans of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Unfortunately, the end is on the horizon for the Netflix comedy series, but there’s still one more season and a movie to come! Deadline broke the news, reporting that “after four seasons and over 50 episodes, word is that everyone felt it was time to end the series.” There’s also the matter of co-creator Tina Fey’s ever-busy schedule, which now also includes a Tony-nominated Mean Girls musical.
Netflix is reportedly in talks with Universal Television to develop a film that will mark the end of the show. Series co-creators Fey and Robert Carlock are expected to write the film after they finish working on the show’s fourth season, which will have its first part (six episodes) hit Netflix on May 30. The second part (seven episodes) will air sometime later.
