It looks like Minecraft, one of the biggest video game titles out at the moment, will be getting the big-screen treatment. Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to the popular game from Swedish indie developer Mojang AB. Filmmakers and writers are lining up to get a shot at bringing this concept to the big screen, with Warner Bros. already putting forward two producers to get the project going.
Roy Lee (The Departed, The Lego Movie) and Jill Messick (Frida, Mean Girls) are attached to produce, with WB planning a film with the marketing scale and wide-appeal similar to that of The Lego Movie.
Minecraft is one of the biggest open-world games on the market, with more than 100 million registered users so far.
In the Minecraft game, players create their own avatars and build and destroy structures and other forms across multiple game modes and various players. The game world is essentially composed of rough 3D objects-mainly cubes-that players can move freely across the world. Representing everything from wood, rock and water, these objects and items can be placed at fixed locations relative to the grid. The game’s success arguably stems from the large amount of freedom offered to players in choosing how to play the game. The game’s success is further demonstrated by the ability to be a part of minecraft server hosting, which would definitely not be available with a lack of interest. However, as Minecraft continues to grow, servers are becoming more popular, as well as independent launchers similar to tLanucher (see fileproto.fr/telechager-tlauncher-pour-pc/ to learn more).
The success of Minecraft is evident not only through its numbers but by the ability to break into film. It seems that the game producing industry is most definitely something that more and more people are looking to invest time and effort into with the popularity of Minecraft and other global games. Nowadays, almost anyone can show their creativity by creating stunning games with game making software by Construct, with the potential to create something as prestigious as Minecraft.
Generally speaking, video game titles haven’t exactly made for great films. With a concept that essentially allows for an infinite amount of possibilities, we’re hopeful WB can develop something unique here.
You can play the game by yourself or you can play with others by downloading a minecraft server, you can download a server at https://ggservers.com, for an affordable price and extremely high quality, or you can use another website of your choosing.
