‘Watchmen’ Official Trailer Hypes Up HBO’s Big Comic Adaptation

HBO

HBO has released the full official trailer for upcoming series Watchmen, inspired by the groundbreaking graphic novel co-created and illustrated by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.

This production certainly looks impressive, although this could go either way; for what it’s worth, I found that first Comic-Con trailer to be more exciting than this one. The show looks to be using the original work as a stepping stone for what seems like a plethora of real-world points of discussion, from far-leaning extremism to police brutality. We’ll see how it performs for HBO, who are no doubt hoping to find another Game of Thrones in terms of success levels. Hoping for the best here.

The series comes from writer Damon Lindelof, known for The Leftovers, Lost and World War Z. The cast includes Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Jean Smart, and Tim Blake Nelson, among many others.

Watchmen begins on HBO on October 20.
