Now this looks bloody bonkers!

Check out the hilariously brutal red band trailer Arrow Video has released for pitch black Russian comedy Why Don’t You Just Die!, which tells of a guy (Aleksandr Kuznetsov) who’s asked by his girlfriend (Evgeniya Kregzhde) to kill her horrible father (Vitaliy Khaev), who happens to also be a detective. Well, let’s just say that it isn’t going to be easy, and neither one of them will be easy to kill.

It’s a wild-looking film that looks to be upping the carnage as the battle escalates in close quarters. It looks like fun though, and there’s some slick-looking filmmaking on display from feature debut filmmaker Kirill Sokolov.

In the U.S. and U.K., it’s being released on April 10. No word yet on which local distributor has it for Australian release.

Official synopsis for Why Don’t You Just Die!:

Matvey has just one objective: to gain entry to his girlfriend’s parents’ apartment and kill her father Andrey with a hammer to restore her honour. But all is not as it initially seems, and Matvey’s attempts to bludgeon the family patriarch to death don’t quite go to plan as Andrey proves a more formidable – not to mention ruthless – opponent than he anticipated… and Matvey, for his part, proves stubbornly unwilling to die.
