Okay, this one’s moved high up on our ‘can’t wait’ list.
Take a look at the first trailer to arrive for the upcoming thriller Widows, from Oscar-winning filmmaker Steve McQueen (12 Years a Slave, Shame, Hunger). Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki and Cynthia Erivo play the titular women, who are left with nothing but debt when their criminal husbands are killed. They team up, on a mission to take their fate into their own hands.
Apart from a fantastic cast that also includes Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell, Robert Duvall, Daniel Kaluuya and Jon Bernthal, Widows also boasts a screenplay by McQueen and Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn, who adapted that novel for David Fincher. Check out the trailer below; it looks great.
Widows, also starring Carrie Coon, Garret Dillahunt, Brian Tyree Henry and Jacki Weaver, will open in the US on November 26 and arrives in Australia on November 29.
