Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, his fourth X-Men picture, is aiming to be one of the most important chapters in the franchise. The world’s first mutant is back to bring the world to its knees.
Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) presided over ancient Egypt, ruling with his Four Horsemen: War, Famine, Pestilence and Death. He has returned and he’s got his Horsemen again, this time in the form of Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), and Archangel (Ben Hardy).
20th Century Fox has unveiled a new featurette giving us a little more background info on Apocalypse and his Horsemen, who happen to have new character posters ready for your perusal.
X-Men: Apocalypse, also starring (deep breath) James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Rose Byrne, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Lucas Till, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Josh Helman, and Lana Condor, hits Australia on May 19 and the U.S. on May 27.
Scroll down to check out the new posters.
Synopsis for X-Men: Apocalypse:
Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
