New ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Poster Gives Villains the Spotlight

Fox has released a new villain-focused poster for X-Men: Apocalypse.

Bryan Singer’s fourth X-Men film will offer up an array of villains, many of which are on display in the film’s latest poster. Michael Fassbender’s Magneto will once again prove to be key to the narrative, but it’s the titular, all-powerful mutant played by Oscar Isaac that will be the cause of the most destruction here. Apocalypse, the world’s first mutant, will force the X-Men to unite to stop his extinction-level plan.

Apart from Magneto, other mutants on the Apocalypse side of things include Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp) and Angel (Ben Hardy).

The X-Men film franchise has been going strongly since Matthew Vaughn re-sparked the series with X-Men: First Class. Fingers crossed we don’t slow down now.

X-Men: Apocalypse, also starring James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Rose Byrne, and plenty more, hits Australia on May 19 and the U.S. on May 27.

Synopsis for X-Men: Apocalypse:

Following the critically acclaimed global smash hit X-Men: Days of Future Past, director Bryan Singer returns with X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
