‘Y: The Last Man’ Trailer: All Males, Expect One, Die in Post-Apocalyptic Series Based on Hit Comic Book

Hulu

The trailer has arrived for upcoming series Y: The Last Man, based on the acclaimed comic book series published by DC Comics imprint Vertigo Comics.

The series is set in a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event decimates every mammal with a Y chromosome – yep, all guys are gone – expect for one man, Yorick (Ben Schnetzer, The Book Thief), and his pet monkey. Also starring Diane Lane, Olivia Thirlby and Ashley Romans, among others, the series follows the survivors as they struggle to restore what was lost and attempt to build something better.

This one’s taken a while to get to screens, hitting various obstacles since FX first reported they were a developing a series adaptation back in late 2015. It’s an okay trailer below, not quite providing excitement for a show based on this much-loved property, but a solid-looking, familiar show nonetheless. We’ll see if the wait was worth it.

Y: The Last Man, from creator and showrunner Eliza Clark (Animal Kingdom, The Killing), will premiere on Hulu on September 13th.
